What is Academic WorldQuest?
WorldQuest is a team competition, held among Orange County high schools and surrounding counties, testing students’ knowledge of international affairs, politics, geography, history, and culture.
Your school’s team of 4 will participate against other high schools at Chapman University. Each team member will receive a certificate for participating and a chance to win cash prizes.

Date: Saturday, April 24, 2010

Who Can Play?
Any high school in Orange County or the surrounding counties are welcome to compete! A team consists of 4 high school students from the same school. This event is open to the teams of high school students and their accompanying teachers or chaperones.
How is Academic WorldQuest Played?
There will be 4 - 5 rounds. Each round will have approximately 10 - 15 multiple choice questions. Teams then confer to reach a single answer.

How Can Teams Prepare?
Questions will be categorized into different rounds. Please find here a Study Guide for the following categories which are suggested websites and resources to help teams prepare for the competition.
What Are The Categories Going To Be? The 2010 AWQ categories are as follows:
1) Current Events
2) International Migration Trends
3) Food Production and Consumption
4) Genocide
5) Pandemics
*Please note that the categories listed here are not in the order the game will be played.
What Happens If My Team Wins?
The first and second place teams will win cash prizes. Each participant will receive a certificate. In addition, students will be able to include their experience on their resume or college applications.
