~
To support the community's civic, social,
professional, business, cultural, and educational
organizations in their international efforts
The Council offers a wide range of programs to meet everyone's interests. The Council does this through a variety of programs.
The centerpiece of the Council's activities
is its Speakers Program, which brings some
of the world's top international figures
to Orange County.
Over the past two years the Council has
hosted such speakers as the Ambassadors
of Britain, the European Union, India, Brazil,
Spain, and Indonesia; America's "Drug
Czar," Gen. Barry McCaffrey; the Director
of the national missile defense system,
Gen. Ronald Kadish; Philip Condit, the CEO
of Boeing; Steve Sample, the President of
USC; the US Ambassadors to Korea and Yemen;
and the President of the Islamic Society
of North America.
Members of Orange County's Congressional delegation are regular speakers and attendees at Council affairs.
The Council also invites its members to private tours of local cultural exhibits, such as the recent exhibition of Chinese Treasures. It offers overseas trips for members each year to meet with senior foreign leaders and US Embassy officials.
Looking to the future, in 2000 the Council launched a major effort to promote and support international education in the schools and universities of Orange County. We're helping a new generation of Orange County residents go global.
